Enrichment for Students Overview & Policies
Before and After School Enrichment Programs
Enrichment programs are available for students at Miller, Driscoll, Cider Mill, Middlebrook and Wilton High Schools. Programs run in three distinct sessions: Fall, Winter and Spring. Classes are held for 60 - 90 minutes, once a week, for approximately eight weeks. Space is limited in many of our programs, so registration is handled on a first-come first-served basis.
ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS: (with the exception of Gymnastics) A $5 registration fee is payable once per session. Registration cut-off for student programs is the Thursday before classes begin. Registrations received after this date will be accepted only if there is space. A $20 late fee will apply per program. If your child is registered and will not be attending class, please call our office at 834-7694. CANCELLATION/PROGRAM CHANGE POLICY FOR ALL PROGRAMS: Parent-initiated cancellations will result in a program credit less a $20 withdrawal fee. If a student withdraws after class has begun and is still in session, then that student is entitled to a pro-rated WCE program credit (based on the number of classes held when the student informs WCE of withdrawal from class). In these situations, registration fees are non-refundable. SCHOOL CLOSING, DELAYED OPENING OR EARLY DISMISSAL: If schools are closed, have a delayed opening or are dismissed early, ALL Enrichment Programs, including Gymnastics, are cancelled for that day. Make-ups will be added to the end of the session. PLEASE READ PERTINENT INFORMATION BELOW RE: YOUR SCHOOL.
REMINDER FOR MILLER/DRISCOLL SCHOOLS: All students will meet outside the Miller/Driscoll library upon dismissal. Students will be met by the Continuing Education staff and instructors and will then go to the program location with their instructor. Remember notes to teachers and reminders to students on the day of class. At pickup, parents, guardians and other authorized individuals are required to proceed to the program location through the office entrance. You must sign-out your child. Check class descriptions for end times since they are different for different schools/classes. Late pick up fees will apply (see below).
REMINDER FOR CIDER MILL SCHOOL: The Continuing Education staff will check your child's attendance only at the first session of class. For subsequent sessions, it is expected that your child attend the program on his/her own without follow-up by our staff. Please remind your child on the day of the program he/she should go directly to the enrichment program location upon dismissal. Please remember notes to teachers. At pickup, parents, guardians and other authorized individuals are required to go to the program location through the main entrance. Please sign-out your children. Check class descriptions for end times since they are different for different schools/classes. Late pick up fees will apply (see below).
LATE PICK-UP FEES: At pick-up, parents, guardians and other authorized individuals are required to enter the school building via the office entrance, proceed to the program location and sign-out their child(ren).
