Enrichment for Students Overview & Policies

Before and After School Enrichment Programs

Enrichment Programs are available for students at Miller-Driscoll, Cider Mill, Middlebrook, and Wilton High Schools. Programs run in three sessions: Fall, Winter, and Spring. Classes are held for 60 - 90 minutes, once a week, for approximately eight weeks. Space is limited in many of our programs, so registration is handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS (with the exception of Gymnastics): A $5 registration fee is payable once per session. Registration cut-off for student programs is the Wednesday before the sessions begin. Registrations received after this date will be accepted only if there is space. A $20 late fee will apply per program. If your child is registered and will not be attending class, please call our office at 203-834-7694.

CANCELLATION/PROGRAM CHANGE POLICY FOR ALL PROGRAMS: Parent-initiated cancellations will result in a program credit less a $20 withdrawal fee. Materials fees are non-refundable. If a student withdraws from a program after the session has started, but before half the sessions have been held, and the class is still in session, the student is entitled to a pro-rated WCE program credit voucher. The credit voucher refund is based on the number of classes held when WCE is informed of the withdrawal from class (less the $20 withdrawal fee). There are no refunds or credits for same day cancellations and no-shows. There is no refund or credit for students who withdraw after half of the sessions have been held. Students must withdraw from a 1-2 week program, 10 days prior to the start of the program to receive a program credit voucher. In these situations, registration fees are non-refundable.

SCHOOL CLOSING, DELAYED OPENING OR EARLY DISMISSAL: If schools are closed, have a delayed opening or are dismissed early, ALL Enrichment Programs, including Gymnastics, are cancelled for that day. Make-up classes are added to the end of the session. PLEASE READ PERTINENT INFORMATION BELOW RE: YOUR SCHOOL.

REMINDER FOR MILLER-DRISCOLL SCHOOLS: All students will meet outside the Miller-Driscoll library upon dismissal. Students will be met by the Continuing Education staff and instructors and will then go to the program location with their instructor. Remember notes to teachers and reminders to students on the day of class. At pickup, parents, guardians and other authorized individuals are required to proceed to the program pick-up location. You must sign out your child. Check class descriptions for end times since they are different for different schools/classes. Late pickup fees will apply (see below).

REMINDER FOR CIDER MILL SCHOOL: The Continuing Education staff will check your child's attendance only at the first session of class. For subsequent sessions, it is expected that your child attend the program on his/her own without follow-up by our staff. Please remind your child on the day of the program that he/she should go directly to the enrichment program location upon dismissal. Please remember notes to teachers. At pickup, parents, guardians and other authorized individuals are required to go to the program location through the main entrance. Please sign out your children. Check class descriptions for end times since they are different for different schools/classes. Late pickup fees will apply (see below).

LATE PICKUP FEES: At pickup, parents, guardians and other authorized individuals are required to enter the school building via the office entrance, proceed to the program location and sign out their child(ren). Late fees will apply for children being picked up after the program end time. Please understand our instructors have commitments after class. Late fees are: $20 for the first 15 minutes after class; $15 for each 15 minute increment thereafter.

Girls Gymnastics

Girls Gymnastics programs are available for Miller-Driscoll, Cider Mill, Middlebrook, and Wilton High School students.  Programs run in four sessions: Fall, December/Holiday/Winter, Spring and Summer. Classes are held at the Wilton High School Auxiliary Gymnasium. Enrollment is open for all levels, beginners through high school. A $10 registration fee is payable for the Fall, Spring and Summer sessions. Registration cut-off is the Thursday before the sessions begin. Registrations received after this date will be accepted only if there is space. A $20 late fee will apply per program.

Coach Gary Chadwick has been teaching gymnastics through Continuing Education for over 25 years and has been the Wilton High School coach for for over 15 seasons.

REMINDER FOR GYMNASTICS: Parents must notify Wilton Continuing Education of any change to their child's participation in Gymnastics. Please walk your child into the Auxiliary Gym and remain there until class begins.

Wilton Conservatory of Music

Registration is for a set of ten lessons on a rolling basis. A $15 registration fee payable per school year.

SCHEDULED SCHOOL CLOSINGS: There are no lessons when Wilton Public Schools are closed or when there is a scheduled early dismissal.

SCHOOL CLOSINGS AND EARLY DISMISSALS DUE TO WEATHER OR OTHER EMERGENCIES: If schools are closed or dismissed early, ALL music lessons for that day are cancelled. Make-up lessons are added to the end of the current set of lessons.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR MUSIC LESSONS: Students are permitted one excused absence per set of ten lessons. An absence is considered excused for illness when the Coordinator is informed by 12:00 noon the day of the lesson or for a conflict when the Coordinator is informed at least 24 hours prior to the lesson time (weekends excluded), though more notice is appreciated. Lessons for excused absences are rescheduled as soon as the teacher's schedule allows or added to the end of the current set of lessons. Same day cancellations (except as stated above for illness) and no shows are considered unexcused absences and will not be rescheduled. Please send an email to conservatory@wiltonps.org to inform the Coordinator of an absence or to reschedule a lesson.

Parent-initiated cancellation of a set of lessons must be made at least ten days before the first lesson and will result in a credit with Wilton Continuing Education, minus a $20 withdrawal fee. There is no refund or credit issued once lessons have begun.

LESSON PICK-UP POLICY: Parents MUST come in to the front of Cider Mill School to sign their child out with the Wilton Conservatory of Music Site Coordinator following a lesson and before the child can leave the school. Before 4:30pm, parents must park in the lower lot to pick up their child. Parking in the circular driveway before 4:30pm obstructs buses coming from the other Wilton Public Schools dropping students off for lessons.

LATE PICK-UP FEES: Late fees will apply for children being picked up after the lesson end time. Late fees are: $20 for the first 15 minutes after class; $15 for each 15 minute increment thereafter.

Please email conservatory@wiltonps.org to inform the Coordinator of an absence, reschedule a lesson or with any issue or concern.

Parent-initiated cancellations will result in a program credit less a $20 withdrawal fee. In these situations, registration fees are non-refundable.

LATE PICK-UP FEES: At pick-up, parents, guardians and other authorized individuals are required to enter the school building via the main entrance, proceed to the program location and sign-out their child(ren).
