Childcare Registration 2010-2011: Kinderkids

Kinderkids is an educational and recreational program designed for kindergarten students at Miller/Driscoll School.  Our program, which runs from 12:45 - 3:35 pm, supplements the shortened kindergarten day broadening your child's school experience.

Daily Activities: At the beginning of each day, Kinderkids join together and eat lunch in the cafeteria as a group.  (Children either bring lunch from home or charge their lunch with a pre-paid lunch card). Lunch is followed by outside recess involving playground activities and free play (weather permitting). When in our dedicated classroom, integrated theme activities provide opportunities for learning and socialization.

A typical day would include the following planned activities:

• Learning with the learning door
• Weather/Calendar activities
• Art projects
• Theme and holiday crafts
• Theme related centers
• Science projects (bulbs, butterflies, seed planting, etc.)
• Computer time
• Story time
• Show & tell

At 3:35 pm, Kinderkids students may:

• Go home by bus
• Get picked-up by a parent or caregiver
• Attend our After School Childcare - another tuition-based program available for grades K-2 located in the Driscoll Cafeteria/Gym (3:35 - 6:30 pm)

Please note: The 5/3 kinderkids program has been filled. There is space available in the 2-day and 1-day options (excluding Mondays) after September 15, 2010.
