Description

“Camp Power Up!” is looking for student helpers (entering grades 8-12) who have a passion for gaming and/or coding. Being a “Camp Power Up!” intern provides students with a great opportunity to build leadership and interpersonal skills as they play with and help campers through Minecraft, Nintendo, 3D printing and coding challenges.

Interns will be responsible for assisting Mr. Ley & Mr Darling with daily activities, including ensuring the well-being and safety of all participants, administering games and activities, providing daily feedback to Mr. Ley & Mr Darling, and maintaining a fun and safe environment. Daily responsibilities include:

  • Help campers log on to Chromebooks & iPads to access Minecraft and coding apps.
  • Playing minecraft in the server with campers, acting as a moderator and helper.
  • Modeling and encouraging good gamesmanship when playing Nintendo with campers.
  • Helping students who feel stuck on a coding or 3D printing challenge.
  • Help with the set up of drone race challenges.

Students must receive prior approval from Mr. Ley before registering for this class. Please email Mr. Ley at leyt@wiltonps.org

When approval has been received, please email Emily Dowden at dowdene@wiltonps.org to register.
