Arm & Finger Knitting Workshop CM01

Learn a new skill that will last a lifetime! Students will create wonderful gifts for themselves and friends. They will begin with fast and exciting arm knitting. Using just their arms, students will complete an infinity scarf. Another quick and satisfying way to knit without needles is five finger knitting! Using just their fingers, students will complete a keepsake butterfly.

The remaining classes will focus on learning to knit with wooden needles. Students will learn how to cast on stitches, and will focus on the knit stitch. Additional skills will include binding off, how to pick up a dropped stitch, and some finishing. Once students are comfortable with their knitting, they will choose a project to knit – a scarf, a hat, or fingerless gloves. Patterns will be supplied.

Knitting is great for finger dexterity, and is a form of meditation. So why "knot" give it a try!

A $24 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the first class. (Cash or checks payable to Rachel Lapnow.)

Class will not be held on Friday, April 19.
