Description
Clay + fantastic art = CLAYtastic! CLAYtastic focuses on handbuilding with kiln-fired clay, while pairing it with another art form such as drawing, painting, wirework, or collaging & creating mixed media with upcycled pieces.
Lessons will include art or STEM concepts, e.g., sculpting film creatures or character masks paired with painted movie scenery, tall buildings with sculptures & street art, or learning how to weave clay coils into twisters or totems. Be inspired by and learn about the methods and creations of artists, engineers, architects, technology wizzes, film character and set designers.
Students will mix it up with clay, glazes, bending sculptural wires, glass marbles, beads, buttons, metallic/neon paints, canvases, wood, mesh, upcyclables… Everything students create will be their design, their choice of materials, and their unique creation. Just imagine!
