Description

Clay + fantastic art = CLAYtastic! which focuses on handbuilding with kiln-fired clay, while pairing it with another art form such as drawing, painting, wirework, street art or collaging & creating mixed media with upcycled pieces. Lessons will include art or STEM concepts, e.g., sculpting film creatures or character masks paired with painted movie scenery or giant animals against a street art scene, creating a winter wonderland, discovering planets in an imagined galaxy, or developing futuristic drones with wired frames.

Be inspired by and learn about the methods and creations of artists, engineers, architects, technology wizzes, film character and set designers. Students will mix it up with clay, glazes, bending sculptural wires, glass marbles, beads, buttons, metallic/neon paints, canvases, wood, mesh, upcyclables… Everything students create will be their design, their choice of materials, and their unique creation. Just imagine!

CLAYtastic! artists have the benefit of CiderClay Open Studio… their last projects will be art project ideas they want to create with Instructor Mrs B’s guidance.
