Description
Speed & Agility with CT Fitness Lab is designed to help young people learn how to use proper mechanics to move quickly and safely in various directions. These techniques not only assist in sport performance but are also beneficial for improving general movement during play. Each day focuses on a specific area, with drills that progress throughout the week to help develop speed, agility, core strength, and endurance.
Proper strengthening is addressed daily to ensure participants are aware of and able to utilize the correct muscle groups, which improves efficiency and minimizes injury risk. With over 25 years of experience in helping individuals improve movement and perform safely, CT Fitness Lab is dedicated to giving participants a competitive edge.
A typical morning schedule includes:
- 9:00-10:30 - Stretching and setting the intention for the day. The group works on movements and footwork to influence proper running mechanics, which are then applied in drills that reinforce how to use them in various ways.
- 10:30-10:45 - Break for a snack.
- 10:45-12:00 - Basic strengthening exercises using body weight, bands, and balls to reinforce the requirements from the movement portion. The day concludes with a game or challenge that builds endurance and continues to drill daily concepts.
Participants are required to wear sneakers, bring a nut-free snack, and have plenty of water each day.
All equipment is included in the class fee.
