Evgenia Zilberberg DJ Lessons - Monday30 Minute

Evgenia's musical journey began at age five, when she started studying violin and piano in Yekaterinburg, Russia. After her family moved permanently to the United States when she was 14, she auditioned for — and was accepted into — both LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and the Manhattan School of Music, the latter with a full scholarship. She went on to join the ISO Orchestra under the direction of Jonathan Strasser.

Along the way, Evgenia collected an impressive string of honors, including the Elaine Bart Award for Best Chamber Music Performance and the Meadowmount Best Solo Performance Award. She studied under celebrated teachers such as Isaac Malkin and Erick Friedman, and after earning a full scholarship to Yale School of Music, decided her instrumental training wasn't enough — she added voice to her repertoire, training with Leah Mogilevskaya of the Bolshoi Theatre, Shirley Love, and Virginia Grasso.

That well-rounded foundation as an instrumentalist and vocalist has taken her to some pretty iconic stages, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Meadowmount Summer Music Festival. For many years, she held permanent vocalist positions at Park Avenue Synagogue and Brick Presbyterian Church on Manhattan's Upper East Side, working alongside Neil Robinson and Keith Toth. She also loves performing at weddings, churches, and other special events with fellow musicians.

As a teacher, Evgenia believes music should never feel like a chore. She creates a fun, creative, low-pressure space where lessons are tailored to each student's abilities, interests, and goals — because her real mission isn't just building better players and singers, it's building lifelong music lovers. She teaches piano, violin/viola, and voice.

Most recently, Evgenia has set her violin, piano, and voice aside every now and then to explore something new: DJing and music production — bringing the same ear for seamless transitions and genre-blending to a whole new creative playground.
