Description
Get ready to jam and create on the spot in rock, jazz, blues, and funk styles! Create awesome solos, cool riffs, and rockin' grooves. Explore music theory & how it applies to improv and composition. Learn to play by ear, sight-read, and most importantly, have fun making music. By the end, you’ll have all the skills to start your own jam session anytime, anywhere!
This is a 90-minute small group class, limited to 6 students.
Prerequisites:
- 7th Grade and above
- 2 or more years of playing experience in Piano, Sax, Clarinet, Flute, Trumpet, or Trombone
- Knowledge of how to play all the notes of their instrument except the extreme highs & lows
- Ability to understand and read 1/8th note rhythms
Note: Students DO NOT need to be current or former students of Jon Blanck or the Wilton Conservatory of Music as long as they meet the above requirements
