Childcare

Wilton Public Schools offer several extended day options to accommodate the various childcare needs of our families. These programs incorporate WPS guidelines to insure health and safety and support student development by including some or all of the following age-appropriate activities each day:

• Guided Homework Time
• Recreation and Exercise
• Arts & Crafts
• Social Skills Development
• Health and Fitness Awareness
• Technology Skills Development

The Miller-Driscoll Before and After School Extended Day Programs offer parents the flexibility of having their child arrive at school early (7:00 - 9:00 a.m.) or stay at school late (3:30 - 6:30 p.m.) in a safe, fun, and nurturing environment. 

The Kinderkids Program is an educational and recreational program designed for kindergarten students.  Our program, which runs from 12:45 - 3:30 p.m., supplements the shortened kindergarten day, broadening your child's school experience. 

The Cider Mill After School Extended Day Program (2:15 - 6:30 p.m.) focuses on providing guided homework time, study skills, recreation and exercise opportunities. Families also have the advantage of preferred enrollment in our various Enrichment Programs, including the Cider Mill Conservatory of Music. The After School Extended Day Program provides additional flexibility for families looking to schedule music lessons or add Enrichment classes by offering on-site childcare before or after their pre-arranged lesson or activity.  Please see our discount programs to find out how you can make the most of this option.

Contract: This option accommodates students who will be enrolled in the program weekly, based on a commitment to regularly scheduled attendance in the Kinderkids or Extended Day Programs. You select the days of the week you would like your child to attend. Discounted rates are available for Contract students.

Drop-In: This option provides flexibility in scheduling Before or After School coverage. (24-hour advance notification).

Do you have last minute plans? Do you need to squeeze in a little holiday shopping? Do you have a younger child who hates driving to his older sibling’s sports practice? If so, register to be a Drop-in at the Extended Day Program at Miller-Driscoll or Cider Mill School!

Many Wilton families enjoy the benefit of the Extended Day Program on an as-needed basis, and you can, too.  Just register your children as a “Drop-In” student at the beginning of the year, and forget your worry about any after school schedule conflicts.  Just give us 24-hours notice and not another thought. We’re here for you.

Register your student as a Drop-in for the 2011-2012 school year prior to September 1, 2011 and you're eligible to purchase a 5-time After School pre-paid Drop-In pass for $150. This is a reduced daily rate of $30 instead of $35!
