Description

“Camp Power Up!” is looking for student interns (entering grades 8-12) who have a passion for gaming and/or coding. Being a “Camp Power Up!” Helper provides students with a great opportunity to build leadership and interpersonal skills as they play with and help campers through Minecraft, Nintendo, 3D printing, and coding challenges. 

Interns will be responsible for assisting Mr. Ley & Mr. Darling with daily activities, including ensuring the well-being and safety of all participants, administering games and activities, providing daily feedback to Mr. Ley & Mr. Darling, and maintaining a fun and safe environment. Daily responsibilities include:

• Help campers log on to Chromebooks & iPads to access Minecraft and coding apps
• Play Minecraft in the server with campers, acting as a moderator and helper
• Model and encourage good gamesmanship when playing Nintendo with campers
• Help students who feel stuck on a coding or 3D printing challenge
• Help with the set up of drone race challenges
• Assist during the arrival and dismissal of campers

Camp Power Up! Helpers will be invited to a set up day prior to the start of camp, and will be invited to stay late on the final day of camp for their week to assist with the breakdown of materials. Each day they are expected to arrive 30 minutes before the campers to help with arrival, and to stay until all the campers have been picked up. Helper hours are 8:30am - 3:10pm.

Please bring a nut free lunch, snacks, beverages & a water bottle each day.
