Fall 2010: Enrichment: Helping Hands Pre-School: Extended Day
Helping Hands Pre-School Lunch/Bunch Enrichment Program, located at Wilton High School, is an educational
and recreational program designed for 3 and 4 year old students. Our program, which runs from 12:00 - 2:00 pm, Tuesday - Thursday, supplements a students shortened day broadening their school experience.
Daily Activities: At the beginning of each day, the children join together and eat lunch as a group. Lunch is followed
by outside recess involving playground activities and free play (weather permitting). When in our dedicated classroom, integrated theme activities provide opportunities for learning and socialization.
A typical day would include the following planned activities:
- Storytelling
- Music & Movement
- Theme Related Centers
- Arts & Crafts
- Theme and Holiday Crafts
- Science Projects (weather, seed planting, etc.)
Tuesdays, 1:00 - 2:00pm: Mary Ann Hall's MUSIC FOR CHILDREN presents "FUN-damentals of MUSIC!" a program designed to integrate music into early childhood curriculums. Jump for joy! Sing your head off! Dance till you drop! Rhymes, rhythm, shake, rattle and roll over 30 different instruments, including live guitar and ukulele in every class. Join us and support your child's musical, physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development. Teachers are chosen from our faculty of skilled, nurturing music educators.
